“ Indian food restaurants are a dime a dozen in this city (or should I say ten pence?) but Memsaab is special. I felt like they really took the extra care to make my meal excellent! When I walked into this corner restaurant at 930pm a a Friday we were the only ones inside, and so a tad trepidatious. However there was nothing to worry about at all. Service was attentive and helpful, and every dish came out looking and tasting delicious. The tandoori prawns arrived at the table sizzling over a bed of perfectly cooked green peppers and onions. They went really fast! The curries (aloo and bhindi) were wonderful complements to the meal. The Naan and garlic rice, often just fillers, were delicious in their own right. I very much recommend Memsaab for your Indian night out! ”

“ This is a great addition to the area, a clean, professional and welcoming Indian restaurant with a wide ranging menu. The curries are good, with options for those who like creamy to those who like spicy and deep. The naan bread wasn't the best I've tasted (a little on the doughy side) but that would be my only minor criticism. If you come, make sure you have the Kattamita Chicken, which is an exclusive dish to Memsaab. It's just the right level of spice, a deep red, thick curry that really tingles on the tongue. Flavoursome and zesty, and very moorish I can't get beyond this everytime I come - must try! The guys here are super friendly, very well educated on the menu and give brilliant suggestions if you're not sure what to go for. A great price, nice, low level modern Indian music creates a relaxed, mellow ambience. On a final note, I think you can always judge a good Indian restaurant on their poppadoms and if you order some here, you'll get 6 accompanying garnishes, from lime pickle, chilli pickle, mango chutney, herb yoghurt and a diced onion mix - very important! Lots of attention to detail and service with a flourish. These guys try hard and it shows - definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Finally, once you've finished your curry, if you have anything left, pop into the charming Hemmington Arms around the corner on Offord Road for a pint of Doombar, the best pint in the UK, you won't be disappointed! ”
